West Virginia Northern Community College students have been focusing on Mental Health Awareness for the month of October. Their Students Caring About Social Issues Club has taken on the stigma of mental illness. NAMI of Greater Wheeling commends the students efforts and encourages other schools to get involved in this important social change effort.
Our Mission is to work to improve the quality of life for mental health consumers and their families through community outreach, public education, advocacy and family support. We are a group of families, professionals and recovering persons with mental illness, dedicated to improving the care, treatment rehabilitation and status of people with mental illness.
